According to researchers, brightly colored foods that are high in lutein and zeaxanthin help improve eye health and functional vision.

The data from modeling and empirical studies show that higher macular pigment in the retina will improve the ability to see at a distance. The value proposition of this is quite incredible for athletes! Since adequate amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin may be hard to obtain from diet alone, supplementation could be ideal.
